18 month check-up! Luke and I went for a doctor visit yesterday. To get ready for the whole experience I bought him a doctor kit and we started practicing. He loved it! It has been so long since we have been to see the doctor so I wasn't sure how he would react if we didn't try to prepare. He weighed 26 lbs.( I thought for sure it would be closer to 30lbs.) and everything looks great! He did have to get 2 shots , but I put some EMLA cream on to numb his skin and that really helped. The nurse gave his Lovey a banaid too. The worst part of the whole visit was when the doctor looked in his ears. Other than that he really did great!

WE'RE BORED!!! This is the first time since I have been staying home with Luke that I have actually been bored. It is so HOT outside that we have been staying indoors alot. We are having to get creative. The other day I busted out the shaving cream and a cookie sheet and he LOVED it. Of course he had to give it a little taste, but he quickly realized it didn't taste as good as it looked.

Here's Holly daydreaming. The poor dogs are even bored. I don't leave them out all day because I'm afraid they are gonna have a heat stroke! So we have all been cooped up together.

Our trip to TAMPA to meet AUSTIN OGLES!!!
Our good friends Alyson and John just had a baby 2 months ago. We have been dying to hold him and kiss him so Luke and I flew to Tampa last Wednesday and had the BEST TRIP EVER! We rented a car and stayed with several friends duing the week and that way we were able to visit everyone. We spent a couple days with Austin. And we even stopped by the hospital where I used to work. When I left work there I was 8 months pregnant so everyone loved to meet Luke.
Alyson and her little man.
We spent a couple of nights with my friend Stefanie. She had a great pool in her subdivision so we took Luke out there one eening to get him tired out before bedtime. I learned that's the key when your out of town. Tire them out and they will go down easy!
He loved the beach entry to the pool
Stefanie left some matchbox cars and legos out for Luke when we got there. He was in heaven.
Stefanie and baby Austin
Our old stomping grounds! We gave Luke a tour of South Tampa, which is a really cute little part of Tampa where we used to live before we bought our first house.
We went to one of our favorite coffee shops called Pane Rustica for breakfast. Luke loved his croissant.
Going to the beach.......... The last night we were there we stayed with our friends Rob and Dawn. They live across the street from the beach and we decided to go over and let the kids play for a little while. It was sooo HOT!!
Dominic and Luke ready for their ride to the beach. They were making each other laugh the entire way there. It was so cute!
We had such a great trip. We have so many great friends there that we miss so much. We are grateful that we have so many reasons to go back and visit. But we are glad to be home. Traveling with a toddler just isn't the easiest thing in the world, but he was so flexible. I was very proud of him. Jim did meet us there on Saturday morning. There isn't many pics of him, but he was there. He was scheduled to come back Sunday on a later flight, but after a lightning storm came through his flight was cancelled and he actually got to spend an extra night in Florida!
