LUKE'S FIRST CHRISTMAS! We went to West Virginia for Christmas this year. That is where Jim's family is from. We had to take two planes out there and Luke did really great considering there was turbulence during the entire first flight. He actually slept right through it. I did not feel so well during that flight and apparently neither did the guy behind me. He was sick the entire time and that didn't help me feel any better. When we changed planes in Cleveland and we got on one that was even smaller (there was only 6 other people on it) and I was worried the ride would be twice as bumpy, but it wasn't. However, Luke decided to blow out his diaper all over his father as we were walking out onto the runway to board our plane. No bathrooms on that plane. They had to hold take off until I changed his entire outfit, which he hates to do so he screamed the whole time. Anyway, once we got there we had a great time. Jim's family enjoyed him so much and I think he really liked it there. Except at night time because he didn't sleep great. So what's new?? Here are some pics of our short visit!
Family picture time............... All the boys.... Jim , his dad with JD, Jims' grandad with Luke and Jim's brother Tim
All the girls.....Me, Jim's mom with JD, Jim's grandma with Luke and Tim's wife Rita
Luke with his big cousin JD. They got to meet for the first time this Christmas. JD didn't care about him too much at first, but after a while he started to warm up to him. Luke on the other hand, thought his big cousin was hilarious! When JD realized he could make Luke laugh he started doing silly stuff on purpose like falling down and jumping around and Luke would just giggle. He liked JD's voice too. He would laugh when he heard him talk . This is Luke smiling on purpose. It's kind of a scrunched up face- sometimes he snorts when he makes this face too........
We discovered Luke loves hot wheels now. They are small enough that he can hold one with one hand and still crawl. He loves to have something in his hand while he crawls.

After opening his presents Luke decided his favorite was the bow that was on top of one of his gifts. So he just crawled around holding his red bow.

Here is Luke's cousin JD ( he's 2)opening presents with his dad. He got a phone that speaks french, spanish and english. Whenever it would say "bonjour" he would crack up and repeat it. Luke really liked his cousin. He would crawl around after him and laugh at him. It was really cute!

Jim's grandparents live on the river with mountains all around. It's really beautiful!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!! Since we are leaving for West Virginia in a few days we decided to trick Luke and pretend Santa came last weekend. He woke up Sunday morning and got to open his presents. He got a walker/ car that makes lots of music, his first fire truck, a piano, an Elmo phone, a Papillion CD and an Imagination Mover DVD. He liked his presents until he saw what Gretta and Holly got then he just wanted to play with their toys. His favorite thing to do these days is throw a ball , watch it bounce and crawl after it.
Poor Holly didn't even get to play with it!!
We will have more pictures of our REAL Christmas soon. Hopefully we will be in the snow!!

HEIDI CAY came to visit. They were talking to each other and holding hands. It was so adorable!

CARROTS......Luke loves to eat his carrots. He especially loves to smear them all over his high chair. He had some after his nap the other day. That explains the hair- he just woke up.

We love the hair!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SANTA SOCIAL
Today we went to the Christmas party at the Parenting Center. That is where we go to play group. Anyway, Luke got to play , have some snacks and meet Santa for the very first time.................
He LOVED riding this horse

Of course he's not smiling, but at least he's not screaming like most of the other kids were
CHEEEEEEEEZE.............
I realize that Luke NEVER smiles for the camera, but I happened catch this cheezy grin while he was having his breakfast. He was having applesauce with pears and his favorite, CHEERIOS!
Haircut Time........
Funny story- a bunch of family met for a girls lunch at Dakota's to celebrate my grandmother's 75th birthday. Aunt Heidi brought her shears to trim Luke's hair for me. So his first haircut was at Dakota's Restaurant. It's still long, but not quite as wild- thanks Aunt Heidi!

He looks like a handsome man
